WorshipThe church is open every day of the year for quiet, prayer and rest. Opening hours are usually 9am to 5pm. Sunday 10am Sung Eucharist and morning tea Tuesdays 5.30pm Christian Meditation group Wednesdays 10am Eucharist and morning tea. On the second Wednesday of the month this 10am Eucharist will be held at Mercy Place, 22 Verona Lane (off Gipps Street) East Melbourne. During Lent we encourage you to use the prayer resource provided by the Diocese. It focuses on the Gospel reading for each Sunday and offers suggestions for personal reflection and prayer. Copies of the booklet are available before Lent begins. 9 March Ash Wednesday 10am and 7.30pm Liturgy including the Imposition of Ashes 17 April Palm Sunday 10am Gather in the Fitzroy Gardens for Palm Procession to Church. 21 April Maundy Thursday 8pm Liturgy, includes the Washing of Feet, the Institution of the Lord’s Supper, and Stripping of the Altar. 22 April Good Friday 10am Way of the Cross Procession with other Melbourne City Churches. Commences at St Francis’ Lonsdale Street. 2pm Liturgy, includes dramatic reading of the Passion of Christ, Prayer for the world with Christ on the Cross, Devotions at the foot of the cross, Holy Communion. 24 April Easter Day 6am Liturgy, including Vigil Readings, Lighting of the New Fire and Festal Eucharist of the Resurrection. Followed by breakfast together. 10am Sung Eucharist for the Resurrection of Christ. 12 June Pentecost Sunday 10am Festival Eucharist for the Holy Spirit 19 June Trinity Sunday – The Festival of our Title. Followed by lunch together. 3 October Eve of St Francis’ Day. 10am We will have our morning service in the Fitzroy Gardens to celebrate this popular saint, followed by a shared picnic lunch. 18 December 6pm Service of Carols and Readings to prepare for Christmas. 24 December 5pm Children's Service 24 December 11.30 pm Mass for Christmas Eve 25 December 10am Festival Eucharist for Christmas Day Naidoc WeekEvery year we do something to keep us focussed on issues of our indigenous brothers and sisters.This year's Naidoc service will be Sunday July 10 at 10 am. For further details contact Peter Arnott on 9417 5048. Music RecitalsThe parish has a long tradition of music in many forms. We hold regular Sunday afternoon concerts and details are advertised as planning is completed. Vestry MeetingsVestry meets at 7.30pm on the third Tuesdays of the month. Sausage SizzlesThe parish has a long tradition of providing a sausage sizzle on Clarendon Street on the Fridays and Saturdays when there is AFL football at the MCG. This is the 15th year of this project. Money raised is used for specific outreach and mission projects as well as parish needs. In the first ten years $125,000.00 was raised and distributed.
